The Te Aratipi Day Adventure
Our Signature Hosted Experience
Designed for small groups of 4–7 guests, The Te Aratipi Day Adventure offers an immersive day on the farm, hosted personally by Ed and Ro Palmer.
This is not a scheduled tour or a traditional corporate outing. It is a relaxed, privately hosted experience that combines authentic farm life, exceptional hospitality, spectacular scenery and a sense of adventure, all at a pace that allows guests to truly enjoy the day.
Te Aratipi means "The Pathway to the Top" — a name inspired by the historic route once used to traverse these hills. Today, that journey remains at the heart of the experience.
Your day begins at the homestead with morning tea and a warm welcome before setting off across the farm towards the highest point of the station. Along the way, guests enjoy expansive views, rolling hill country and the unique landscapes that define this special corner of Hawke's Bay.
Awaiting at the top is a long, leisurely hosted lunch at the Te Aratipi cabins. With sweeping views, seasonal food, local flavours and drinks tailored to your group, lunch is designed to be one of the highlights of the day. Generous, relaxed and unhurried, it is an opportunity to gather, connect and enjoy genuine country hospitality.
The adventure continues with a Can-Am journey across the station, venturing into parts of the farm few visitors ever see. Hidden valleys, native bush, spectacular viewpoints and a stop at the waterfall offer a glimpse into the scale and character of Te Aratipi.
For those seeking a little friendly competition, the day also includes a visit to our private farm golf course and the chance to take on "The Ghost" and our famous Trough-in-One challenge.
As the afternoon draws to a close, guests return to the homestead for sundowners, croquet, generous platters and relaxed conversation overlooking the farm.

Corporate Reviews
“Our Te Aratipi experience did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived Ro and Ed made us feel incredibly welcome and were the most amazing hosts. They sent us on our way for the 8km walk which had the most epic views and scenery. We were then served the most delicious lunch full of produce straight from their farm. The golf course was a highlight and our stay in the Rabbiter's cottage was an absolute treat. Thanks for having us, Ed, Ro and the boys, you really made us feel like family!”
— Emmett - RAVE Farming“Ro and Eddie were the most incredible host for our Christmas Party this year. From beginning to end, they showed us what true service and experience was. From Ro's beautiful handmade home cooked morning tea, to the breath-taking walk through their farm, to the absolutely delicious lunch we received at the top of the farm overlooking Waimarama beach. It truly was something special. Loved every moment.”
— Abby - Emerging Engines“I’m a very picky guy. I can pick holes in anything. But I will be brutally honest with you. I thought the product you delivered was absolutely bang on….The directions were clear. The greeting lovely. The health and safety was brief, serous enough, casual enough…..professional! Coffee and cake yummy. Great start. The walk was well sign posted and a good bit of exercise, cool having the animals running about. Shooting was fun. Drinks were great. Good to have local beer…..keep all the wine and gin local too! Lovely touch to have home made lemonade. Lunch delicious. Like absolutely beautiful! Waterfall awesome. Lawn croquet very fun.
What makes something like this really special of course though is the people! You both really just made the day!”
